BIRTHDAY!

Hey hey hey it's your birthday! Happy Happy Birthday!

No, not yours... Oh man this is awkward.  *EHEM* It's my birthday.  Well, was.  And this weekend I celebrated with my Boyfriend in the Emerald City!  That's right all your Frasier fans... We were in Seattle!
Some people are bigger Frasier fans than others.

We went specifically to see one of our favorite bands.  The much anticipated show was sold out! And I have to tell you, they did not disappoint.   The band is called Pickwick and the vibe is this kind of gospel soul musicality that just wont stop making you smile.  It's really really really good.  The bass player was holding down some lines that almost had me crying.  So good.  Do your ears a favor and listen to this!

Right?!?

I got to hang out with my about to have a baby BFF,  Nadia.  It turns out she is an even better friend than I thought.  She caught this bug from her kiddos and ended up hiding flu like symptoms from me the whole night so I wouldn't insist she go home.  Can you imagine what people thought when they were at a BAR and heard a woman puking in a stall, only to see my 8 months preggo friend walk out, rinse out her mouth and re apply lipgloss?

Well she sure showed that 12 hr bug who was boss.  And really made a few strangers uncomfortable.  Win win!

To top off the great weekend my friend Kate bought my Boyfriend and I a hotel room.  The hotel was adorable and not on the "Bed Bug Registry".  Always a good sign.   It was the first night Brett and I stayed away from the kids at the same time!  A total success!  If by success you mean I didn't cry ONCE and had a great time, then yes, a total success!

So 29, I'm coming for ya.  I have one year in my mid to late twenties (I can still call them that, right?) and I'm going to make it a good one.  Full of music and creativity and naps.

You see, the difference between a long fun late-night-filled weekend when you are 20 and a long fun late-night-filled weekend when you are almost... well you know how old I am... is that now I need a nap.  Or six.

Hey, a girl can dream!
be sleepy,

Happy Birthday, Joy. I'm glad you had a kid free night. Even with a 10 year old in the house, being kid free is still a treat. I still think of you as just out of high school. I'm sure you'd prefer it if I held onto that thought!
